Mets Player Performance Meter: Pitchers, April 15-21

The Mets’ pitching staff fared well again this week as a unit with the obvious exception of yesterday’s game where Adrian Houser was shellacked by a potent Dodgers lineup. Otherwise, the pitching staff has kept the Mets in every game, even when they have dealt with traffic on the basepaths. If there is one issue to point out with the staff as a whole, it’s that they walk far too many batters. But the name of the game for them has been limiting the damage, which is why the Mets remain among the league leaders in staff ERA, despite being third in baseball in walks behind only the Marlins and Astros, both of whom have staff ERAs a full run and a half or more higher than the Mets.
