Plan A for the 2024 Orioles at closer was for Félix Bautista to not tear his UCL last August, requiring Tommy John surgery that knocked him out for all of this year. Plan B was for the offseason signing of Craig Kimbrel, one of the most accomplished relievers of all time, to work out as a one-year stopgap for this season.
